以纯粹之名：中国独立游戏文化的消费与生产研究

I /0 独立游戏通常具有小规模制作、注重个人表达、拥有独特艺术风格等“纯粹”特征，因此，强调纯粹的独立游戏往往被视为商业游戏的反面。如今，越来越多的玩家受纯粹精神的感召，选择成为独立游戏开发者。既有研究将独立游戏的纯粹特质归纳为本真性，但本真性的理解与实践之间的关系却较少获得关注。基于对十位独立游戏开发者的访谈以及对游戏制作的参与式观察，本研究在本真性概念的框架下，揭示了最初作为文化消费者的玩家何以走上独立开发之路，而他们对本真性的理解又如何影响了游戏文化生产。 研究发现，文化距离催生了差异性体验，进而构成了独立游戏开发的核心动机。具体来说，游戏公司内“盈利导向”和“数据驱动”的商业开发模式剥夺了开发者渴望的能动性，而独立游戏又被媒体塑造为象征着自我表达和开发自主性的存在，两者对比所产生的文化距离让受访者愈发向往独立开发。 研究还进一步指出，独立游戏的生产本质上构成了一种消除文化距离的本真性工作。为此，一方面为了获得本真性的标签，独立游戏的市场推广常常不着力于展示游戏品质，而更多是一场强调创作者人生经历的履历游戏。另一方面，面对现实压力所导致的进度停滞和内容妥协，开发者不得不调试自我以维持本真性。而这也导致了两种后果：一是由于独立游戏开发者能通过自己的主观解释让种种改动合理化，因而独立游戏开发有沦为“自我体验”幻觉的风险；二是独立游戏成为一个模糊的标签，标签之下的开发者群体有着极强的异质性，独立开发者身份也成为可随时下载的“免费奖章”。 从这个意义上讲，开发者们看似在独立开发中享有了他们梦寐以求的自主性。但事实上，他们依然受制于现实逻辑：既无力改变诸多现实压力，也仍旧遵循着强调自我进步的社会制度逻辑，只是衡量进步的标尺从由他人评断的物质地位，转换成了由自我把控的游戏开发技术。 最后，研究还从独立游戏开发延展开来，试图折射出更大范围内的工作伦理变迁：即当下“好”岗位的衡量标准不在于能否产生足够的社会价值，而在于能否满足个体的美学体验需求。这种新工作伦理模糊了个人生活与劳作之间的界限，更有甚者会导致无意识的自我剥削。 !"#$%独立游戏；本真性；文化生产；文化消费；工作伦理 Abstract II Abstract Indie games are often characterized by small scale production, personal expression, and unique artistic style, and the emphasis on purity is often seen as the opposite of commercial games. There are studies that summarize the purity of indie games as authenticity, but the relationship between the understanding and practice of authenticity has received less attention. Based on interviews with ten indie game developers and participatory observations of game production, this study reveals, within the framework of the concept of authenticity, how players, initially as cultural consumers, embark on the path of independent development and how their understanding of authenticity influences the cultural production of games. The study finds that cultural distance gives rise to differentiated experiences, which in turn constitute a core motivation for independent game development.
